You say"uh so patient back for his blood pressure, one thirty over eighty, we continue the treatment, uh, recheck in three months"
It's writtenPatient seen for hypertension follow-up. Blood pressure: 130/80. Continue current treatment. Recheck in 3 months.

Illustrative example, no real data. Always review the text before adding it to the record.

Less keyboard,
more time for your patients

We speak much faster than we type. The visit note gets written between appointments, and the letter goes out before the end of the day.

Use cases

Voice to text,
from the practice to the ward

Four moments when voice dictation lightens the writing load for clinicians.

Visit notes

Speak naturally,
the text tidies itself up

Dictate your findings as they come to you. The "uhs," the repetitions and the sentences you fix midway are removed; punctuation, capitalization and numbers are formatted.

  • Works anywhere you can type text: practice software, a browser-based record, a word processor.
  • Your corrections are understood: "no, make that six weeks."
You say"physical exam unremarkable, uh, we'll order blood work, no actually a full workup, follow up in six weeks"
It's writtenPhysical exam unremarkable. Full workup ordered. Follow up in 6 weeks.

Letters to colleagues

Your letter goes out
in seconds

With Speeds, the tone adapts to the app: a sentence said plainly becomes a polished letter in Mail. Snippets insert your usual phrases and your signature from a keyword.

You say"letter to colleague patient seen today improving we continue the treatment"
Mail · New Message

Dear Colleague,

I saw your patient today. The condition is improving; we are continuing the current treatment.

Kind regards,

Meetings and training

Staff meetings,
webinars, lectures

For your video meetings on your Mac, Speedy Flow transcribes the conversation and writes meeting notes: summary, key points, decisions, action items. The "Cours / conférence" (Lecture / conference) template also structures your training sessions.

  • Nothing is recorded unless you start it. Always let participants know before you transcribe them.

Health data

What you need to know before you dictate

Information about your patients is sensitive. Here is exactly what Speedy Flow does, according to our privacy policy, and what is up to you to check.

What Speedy Flow does

  • Stored on your Mac. Dictations, transcripts, notes and summaries stay on your computer. We keep no copy.
  • Transcription in the cloud. Audio is sent encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) to online speech recognition engines (currently Groq, with OpenAI as a fallback), processed in memory and never written to our servers. OpenAI may retain data for up to 30 days, solely to detect abuse.
  • No training by default. The "Aider à améliorer Speedy Flow" (Help improve Speedy Flow) option is off by default and never shares audio or full text.
  • Transfers outside your country. Our providers may process data elsewhere, including in the United States, with recognized safeguards.

What is up to you to check

  • No health certification. Speedy Flow is a dictation and note-taking tool. It does not make any diagnosis and does not claim any certification specific to health data (such as HDS, France's health data hosting certification, or HIPAA in the United States).
  • Your obligations. Check medical confidentiality, your facility's rules and your country's regulations before dictating identifying information.
  • People's consent. Before transcribing a meeting or a call, inform the participants and get their consent.
  • Review. Always review the text before adding it to a record or sending it.

FAQ

Questions from clinicians

Can I dictate into my medical software?

Speedy Flow writes anywhere you can type text, right where your cursor is. The app asks for Accessibility access to do this; it does not read what's displayed on your screen.

Is Speedy Flow certified for health data?

No, Speedy Flow does not claim any certification of this kind (HDS, HIPAA…). Your content stays on your Mac, and audio is transcribed online without being kept by us. Check your own obligations before dictating patient data.

Where are my notes stored?

On your computer: history, notes and transcripts. You can delete a dictation, a meeting or your entire history from the app.

Are medical terms recognized correctly?

Add the drug names, acronyms and proper names you use to the dictionary: from then on they're always spelled right. Always review the text, especially dosages and numbers.

Do I need an internet connection?

Yes. Transcription happens online, in more than 50 languages. There's nothing to set up.

How much does it cost?

The free version includes 4,000 dictated words per month and 3 transcribed meetings. Pro gives you unlimited words and meetings. See pricing.
