A desk with a notebook, a laptop and a coffee
You say“sum up chapter three in five points for Thursday's review”
It's writtenChapter 3, five key points for Thursday's review: 1. The causes… 2. The key players… 3. The consequences…

In class

You remember more when you listen. Not when you copy.

While you follow the reasoning, Speedy Flow transcribes the lecture and writes clear notes. You ask questions and take your own notes.

Use cases

From lecture hall to final paper, by voice

Five ways to use automatic transcription and voice dictation to study or teach.

01 · Lecture notes

An online lecture, notes ready to review

Start transcribing your class or talk on Zoom, Meet or Teams and pick the “Cours / conférence” (Lecture / talk) template. At the end, you get a summary, key concepts with short definitions, a detailed outline, the examples given, the main takeaways and review questions.

  • No bot in the call: audio is captured on your Mac
  • Always ask the teacher and participants for consent before transcribing
Lecture / talk · Zoom · 1 h 30

Introduction to Macroeconomics

Key concepts
  • GDP: value of a country's output over a period [05:20]
  • Inflation: a general, sustained rise in prices [31:45]
Review questions
  • What's the difference between nominal and real GDP?
  • What are the effects of a rate hike?
02 · Studying

Ask questions to your lecture

Zoned out for twenty minutes? Ask “what did I miss?” or “what examples did the professor give?”. The answer draws on the transcript and cites the key moments. Then export your notes as Markdown to Notion or Docs.

  • Questions during and after class
  • Summary in another language, if your class isn't in yours
What examples did he give for inflation?
✦ Speedy answers

Two examples: rising energy prices [33:10] and how the price of a basket of groceries changed over ten years [36:02].

03 · Essays and theses

The first draft, without the blank page

Open your document and explain your argument out loud, as if to a classmate. Speedy Flow writes punctuated text without the hesitations, which you then polish. The Dictionary keeps the spelling of authors, concepts and the jargon of your field.

  • About five times faster than typing
  • Correct a word once: Speedy Flow can remember it next time
You say“in the second part, uh, we'll show that globalization, no, actually that trade openness doesn't benefit all countries equally”
Google Docs · Essay

In the second part, we will show that trade openness does not benefit all countries equally.

04 · Teachers

Report card comments and emails, dictated in no time

Report card comments, course materials, emails to families or students: dictate them into your school software, your email or your word processor. Snippets insert your recurring instructions with a single word.

  • Speeds: the right tone for each app
  • The “Cours / conférence” (Lecture / talk) template to keep a record of your own online classes
You say“comment um good term progress in speaking keep working on writing”
Report card · Term 1

A good term, with clear progress in speaking. Continued effort is needed in writing.

05 · Languages and ideas

Study in more than 50 languages

A lecture in English, a presentation in Spanish: the language is detected automatically, even if you mix two. And to jot down a topic idea on the fly, the Scratchpad, a free-form dictation notepad, is always within voice reach.

  • Meeting or lecture summary translated into the language of your choice
  • History, notes and transcripts stay on your Mac
You say“presentation idea, so, compare the role of central banks in Europe and West Africa”
Scratchpad

Presentation idea: compare the role of central banks in Europe and West Africa.
