You say“write to opposing counsel that our client is, um, ready to negotiate, no actually open to mediation, and suggest a date before the end of the month”
It's written in MailDear Counsel,
Our client is open to mediation. I suggest we set a date before the end of the month.
Best regards,

Illustrative example: the hesitations and the “no actually” correction are taken into account.

Law takes a lot of writing.
Might as well say it

Your hours are for legal reasoning, not typing. Speedy Flow turns your speech into text that's ready to review, then send.

Speech to text
that works for your practice

Four everyday moments in legal work where voice to text saves you time.

Letters and emails

The right tone,
without retyping everything

Dictate your reply to a client or opposing counsel the way you'd explain it out loud. The “ums” and repetitions disappear, and punctuation and capitalization are added.

  • With Speeds, the same message becomes a polished email in Mail or a direct message in Slack.
  • Transformations rewrite a passage in one step, for example, to translate it into French.
You say“tell the client the hearing has been postponed to the twelfth, um, and let's set up a call next week to prepare”
Mail · New message

Hello,

The hearing has been postponed to the 12th. I suggest a call next week so we can prepare for it together.

Best regards,

Client interview notes

Listen to your client.
The notes write themselves

For a video meeting or a call from your Mac (Zoom, Teams, Meet, FaceTime, WhatsApp…), Speedy Flow transcribes the conversation, then writes up meeting notes: summary, key points, decisions, and action items to check off.

  • Then ask your questions: “What documents does the client need to provide?” The answer is based on the transcript.
  • No bot joins the call, and nothing is recorded unless you start it. Always inform participants and get their consent before transcribing.

Summary

The client wants to challenge the termination of their commercial lease and would prefer to seek an amicable solution first.

Action items
  • Send over the lease and the correspondence
  • Draft a letter to the landlord
What documents does the client need to provide?

Contracts, briefs, memos

Your first draft,
dictated in one go

In your word processor, your practice management software, or Notion: anywhere you can type text, you can dictate. Work through a document template or a research memo out loud, then review and refine.

  • Your corrections are understood: “no, actually the next section.”
  • If the text isn't right, undo the rewrite, run the transcription again, or find the dictation in your history.

On the question of liability, two periods should be distinguished: before the formal notice, and from the date it was received.

Exhibits 4 to 7 establish the timeline of the correspondence.

Legal vocabulary

Terms and names,
spelled right

Add your clients' names, acronyms, and the vocabulary of your practice area to the dictionary: from then on, they're always spelled right. Words you correct after a dictation can also be added to the dictionary.

  • Snippets insert a full block of text from a keyword: say “my contact details” and your whole signature is written out.

Privacy

Your data, made clear

Professional confidentiality matters. Here's exactly what Speedy Flow does with your voice and your text, according to our privacy policy.

What Speedy Flow does

  • Stored on your Mac. Dictations, transcripts, meeting notes, and summaries stay on your computer. We don't keep any copy.
  • Online transcription. Audio is sent encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) to cloud speech recognition engines (currently Groq, with OpenAI as a fallback), processed in memory, and never written to our servers. OpenAI may retain data for up to 30 days, solely to detect abuse.
  • No training by default. The “Aider à améliorer Speedy Flow” (Help improve Speedy Flow) option is off by default and never shares audio or full text.
  • Safeguarded transfers. Our providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States, with recognized safeguards.

What remains your responsibility

  • Your professional obligations. Make sure this use is compatible with professional confidentiality, the rules of your profession, and those of your organization. Speedy Flow does not claim any certification specific to the legal professions.
  • Participants' consent. Before transcribing an interview, inform the people present and get their consent: it's mandatory in many countries.
  • Reviewing. Always review the text before sending it or adding it to the file.
